Abstract

Digital transformation in government organizations has encouraged various central, regional, and village government entities to continuously develop electronic-based government systems. At the village level, the Sistem Informasi Desa (SID), or Village Information System platform, has been provided through village websites to deliver digital public services and serve as an information medium for the wider community. However, this initiative faces several challenges, including the low digital literacy of village government officials, which hinders organizational performance and public accountability, as observed in Sekar Village, Bojonegoro Regency. Village operators and officials have not yet fully understood how to manage the village website to support digital public accountability. This community service activity aimed to enhance digital accountability in village governance through capacity building for village operators and officials in managing the village website. The study employed a participatory research approach, in which researchers were directly involved in facilitating and guiding the knowledge transfer process for sustainable website management. The assistance process included problem identification, collection of village profile data, planning and budgeting documents, and other supporting documents. Subsequently, data editing and website management mentoring were carried out for the village operators. The results indicate a significant improvement in digital accountability through the village website (https://sekar-bjn.desa.id/), as various public information menus have been successfully populated, including village profiles, development planning documents, and village budget information. It is expected that this community service initiative will encourage the regular and sustainable management of the village website in the future.
